Ebook Review: How to get 1 Million Visitors on your web site without paying a dime in advertisement
by Stephan Ducharme
o.k. folks,
I didn´t think I had to bother with this again, but last week alone
(second week of february 2004) I got two joint venture requests from
Mr. Ducharme´s "protégé" affiliates. So I felt the urgence to write
this review and warn you.
The book is 161 pages in .pdf format. In the first section, Mr. Ducharme
describes his 9 step method to 1 million visitors, basically how to
set up your own affiliate program and have affilites sending visitors to
your site. The best thing about this part and Stephan´s writing style
is that it´s pretty entertaining.
He first differntiates between affiliates and website owners and then
goes on explaining how he created an oh so powerful system (ready made
business) for people who choose to become his protégés, something like
privileged affiliates. Note that this privilege costs about 40 bucks per
month - ha ha ha.
At the end of this section he gives you a list of Startpage- and Exitexchanges
and "viral traffic programs" (like "10000 hits" and "10 minutes a day") to join.
The second part of the book is upsell after upsell.
The worst thing about it is that he even recommends the use of email
harvesting software in order to find (and spam) super affiliates.
At the end of this chapter Mr. Ducharme lists a couple of free
advertising sources like posting to newsgroups, mass mailing to safe lists,
reverse advertising (FFAs). He even goes so far to include posting to
FFAs for a way to increase link popularity in order to rank better in the
search engines. Do this if you want your site to be banned from the search
engines.
Just to remember: the book costs between 97$ and 197$.
The last part of the book contains 4 pages of general tips for creating
a web site and a powerful sales letter, the kind of advice you can also
get for free, and finally concludes with another few recommendations
(or upsales), including hosting, affiliate tracking software and for a service
of one of his friends.
Honestly: this was the worst investment of my whole internet marketing venture,
in my early months in business. Sad enough that I missed the deadline for
a refund, there´s only a 30 day money back guarantee.
My rating: 0
